Award Sport Partner-FootballFirst India in association with The Football Link launched a year long campaign on 26th January 2012 – ‘Football For Fun’, a social initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst children in New Delhi by getting them to play football in their neighborhood grounds. This campaign will be organized in association with FootballFirst Sports and Resident Welfare Associations (RWA).
The campaign kicked off during the Republic Day Celebrations in South Delhi at Mandakini Enclave (22nd January), Nilgiri Apartments (22nd January), Aravali Apartments (25th January) and Greater Kailash II (26th January). During these three days various mini tournaments were conducted at the RWA community grounds with over 400 children (both boys and girls) taking part in football games.
As part of this campaign, The Football Link plans to cover more than 50 different localities in a year across Delhi and organize football games, in a safe and fun environment, for more than 5000 children.
