Usman Gani

World Rivers Day - Bharti Rao
Not only for drinking, but water is also one of the primary ingredients for cooking food. We get this water from rivers. The importance of rivers is much than we recognize in our lives, ranging from the drinking water that we have to the electricity-producing plants which power all the appliances we have in our lives. It would not be wrong to say that life will only continue to exist if there is a river flowing on this planet.
Nowadays rivers in virtually every country face an array of threats due to the growing pollution. So, to highlight the values of rivers in our life World Rivers Day is celebrated on the fourth Saturday of the month of September. It strives to increase public awareness and encourages the improved stewardship of all rivers around the world.
On this day many enhancement projects are carried out to clean the rivers. People do surfing, canoeing, water activities etc. to celebrate this day. I would like to quote that 'If you save water, water will save you' so save rivers which is an integral part of our life.

Happiness and Tolerance - Dynamic DGS
Tolerance plays an important part in promoting social equality in school. Every person has the right to follow one's own religious beliefs, eat the kind of food one likes and children from an early age must be taught to respect the differences while interacting with each other. Peer pressure should be a positive influence.
As a teacher, one has to lead by example and be a role model. One should be careful of the advice one gives and explain to the children the advantages of tolerance and living happily as a community. Tolerance in diversity eventually leads to happiness.
Residential schools are second homes for children. A home away from home. Interaction between a teacher and the student is not restricted to the four walls of the classroom. For long hours of the day they are together in the class, dining hall, infirmary, games field, swimming pool, auditorium, dormitories. The teacher deals with all kinds of traits in children and it is only by being tolerant, compassionate that one is able to reach out and bring happiness in the child’s life.
Happiness is about being nice and spreading it all around. Happiness is beyond any mathematical equation or a rocket science that can be solved or invented. It is neither complicated nor so simple to understand.
Sometimes all the child wants is someone to listen to her and these small gestures like listening to what children have to say can make them so happy. Instead of punishing a child or getting angry we should try and understand why the child is behaving differently or not concentrating in class.
In a school, a child cannot be happy if the teacher is disgruntled, not really happy with her colleagues or her mentors. We are the idols for children and they do what they see, so we should give them what they should see, good behaviour.

World Ozone Day - Kavita Devda
World Ozone Day is important because it is a day that is used for spreading awareness regarding the Ozone Layer’s depletion, as well as the search for solutions in order to preserve it.
Ozone is a gas in the atmosphere that protects everything living on the Earth from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays from the Sun. Without the layer of ozone in the atmosphere, it would be very difficult for anything to survive on the surface. Plants cannot live and grow in heavy ultraviolet radiation. The ozone layer acts as a shield to absorb the UV rays, and keep them from doing damage at the Earth's surface.
The ozone layer is very important for life on earth. It protects us from harmful UV rays that can have serious effects on biodiversity, animals and people’s health, including skin cancer and eye cataract.
The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, also known simply as the Montreal Protocol, is an international treaty designed to protect the ozone layer by phasing out the production of numerous substances that are responsible for ozone depletion.
Aside from learning more about the ozone layer on this date, another way that you can honour and observe World Ozone Day is by spreading awareness on the subject. A lot of people are not aware of the damaging impact that they are having on the ozone layer. This is why it is important to spread awareness about this, and World Ozone Day provides you with the perfect opportunity to do this. The ozone layer protects the Earth from the sun’s harmful rays. It is essentially a fragile shield of gas. Because of this, it plays a massive role in helping to preserve life on our planet.

Happiness - Monika Vaishnav
Happiness is something that we can't buy with money, we need to build it inside our hearts and brains. A person needs to have patience and understanding to become happy. We should try to achieve what we want but we must appreciate what we have. Becoming impatient and over-ambitious can ruin our happiness. I see people feeling happy by doing little work, like the children look so happy when they play with friends, helping any needy one, talking to someone when someone feels lonely. If we are happy. We enjoy everything that happens around us otherwise an unhappy person feels lonely among hundreds of people.

Value of Silence - Sharmila Vijayvargi
No prayer or meditation is possible where there is deafening noise that is why the sages in the ancient times preferred caves, forests and mountain tops for the meditation. But little children love to make noise. They are too young to know the importance and value of silence in life. Their noise at play may be an expression of their excitement and joy but it may disturb others. Therefore let us realize the importance of silence in our life. Let us learn to observe it, for it is an integral part of the discipline in life when we observe silence peace prevails all around us
Everything goes on smoothly just like the planets move silently in their orbits. When silence is not observed there is chaos, for everyone wants to be heard but nobody is ready to listen. The atmosphere becomes unhealthy and unpleasant. A very small incident may turn into an ugly brawl We must learn when and how much we ought to speak and when we must keep quiet. We must always observe the etiquette of silence wherever we are at home, in our classroom, in the library or when visiting an ailing relative or friend at the hospital.
The conversation is a two-way process. We must learn to listen if you want to be heard. No one likes a talkative person. Therefore we should not waste time in idle talk. Time thus saved can be better utilized and productive work. If the silence can say it, why waste a word? Communication is not all the noise that's heard. Silence too speaks. A language of its own. Discover its power, respect every silent zone.
