The School System Is Doomed For Failure - 2: Soham Anand

It is incredible how young mature today physically and emotionally may be mentally too, but intellectually and spiritually, they remain starved.

We hardly had any exposure to the type of current generation in our times. We barely knew about sex in school. It was only in university we got to know some details about it. There wasn't any question about drinking or smoking. The word drug was restricted to drug and chemist stores.

Today's kids have sexual exposure even before they step out of teen. They are at ease with drinking, smoking and drugs. By sixteen or seventeen, they are grown up men and women. And if one goes to have physical relations, drug consumption and tobacco at the same time while in school, of course, the schools are bound to be doomed.

Pressure from society, the school environment, the amusement industry, and social and digital media are instrumental factors for physical maturity. They help one grow physically at an astonishing speed. By the time they are 35, they are burnt out and spent force. The body starts showing signs of decay and deterioration, and they hit the pills.

They neither have a childhood or a girlhood, continually at bay, in an exceedingly cooking pressure state of affairs.

The human mind has to grow gradually and mature quietly to carry on and live a wholesome life. The process starts at school. Alas! It is just the other way around today.

There is something very sublime, rather an innocence, associated with schools. One learns only when one is vulnerable and innocence intact. We've lost that innocence today.

Our schools sound senseless and hollow, fated to be doomed without that innocence and sublimity.

Caring - Manisha Deora

What is caring? Caring is when you do a good deed for someone because it is the right thing to do. Caring is one of the most important values of our life. Caring can be learned by all human beings. Caring is to look after or concern for someone. In our school also students take care of each other. They help each other in studies, sharing things and even share their lunch. We also care for the people with whom we are attached. For example - Our vegetables grow well in our school garden because we water them and do the weeding. You need to give the care to receive the same. If we care for someone they may feel happy or feel special. Without a sense of caring, there will be no sense of community.

Caring about the people, things, life is an act of maturity. Caring people are eager to provide encouragement and support when needed most. We can tell our children to look after someone who is new in the class who doesn't speak English. We care for our school so it is a great place to learn.

It's important to care for everyone even if it's not easy sometimes. This value can help the children to be kind to others and respect themselves as well as others. When you care for someone, you make a difference in the world with kindness. If you really like someone and care about them, you can survive many difficulties.

Caring is supporting people as they go through tough times. Caring is helping others in time of needs. The world will be a better place if we care for one another.

TG Mural
Life Skill
Adolescence is a maturity period of development and adolescents are considered as the productive members of a society. Now a days the life of adolescents are flattering miserable due to many reasons including unsuitable home and school environment. They are becoming individuals who are less stimulated, less confident and are engaging in rebellious activities and spoiling their valuable life. Adolescence is a period when the cerebral, physical and all the capabilities are very high but their antisocial activities and performance are deteriorating all their capabilities and they are becoming a burden to the society. Imparting life skill training through inculcating life skill education will help our adolescents to overcome such difficulties in life. Life skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life (WHO, 1996). Life skill education aims to provide students with strategies to make healthy choices that contribute to a meaningful life. Life skills are the abilities that help to promote psychological well being and ability in young people as they face the realities of life. It helps the young people to take positive actions to protect themselves and to promote health and meaningful social relationship. Life skill facilitates a complete and integrated development of individuals to function effectively as social beings. Life skills can be applied in the contexts of social and health events. With life skills, one is able to explore alternatives, weigh pros and cons and make rational decisions in solving each problem or issue as it arises. It also entails being able to establish productive interpersonal relationships with others. Developing life skills helps adolescents in translating knowledge, attitude and values into healthy behavior that makes their life fruitful. Life skills also help in empowering girls by imparting healthy behavior and helping them to avoid risks and to make appropriate decisions at the right time.
