Handling Pressure - Prakash Dangi

Courtesy: newstodaynet.com
How do you handle stress and pressure? The easiest way to get started is to take ten minutes each day to prioritize and organize all the key things you need to accomplish. Once you have the big priorities identified, you can break down your large goals into smaller, more manageable incremental goals. At that point, you will have a plan for moving ahead. Focusing on accomplishing one task at a time can prevent you and others from feeling overwhelmed. With this in mind, try these tips to start thriving under pressure.

It’s important to recognize the small steps that you and your team members are taking towards completing a larger project because it helps people feel good about their accomplishments, builds morale, and bolsters the team’s confidence while working through long-term initiatives.

Studies strongly suggest that having the ability to handle pressure successfully plays a significant role in their success and the organization they work for. People who work well in high-pressure situations have a few things in common, including the ability to resolve conflict positively and meet challenges with humour and determination. These leaders and employees have the self-awareness to know when they feel stressed and manage their responses to that pressure.

Simple Living and High Thinking - Bharti Rao

Modern Times has brought a change in the lifestyle of the people. They have changed their way of living. The emergence of technology and new inventions has made their life easier and materialistic. This has confined them in the four walls of their office or home.

They have lost their simple joys somewhere like spending time with families, friends, relatives etc. They do not go and spend their time in the natural environment or play outside or read books. This is destroying their ability to think high. The new lifestyle has led to various diseases like obesity, diabetes, cancer etc.

Due to this, people are overburdened, stressed, full of anxiety and negative thoughts. To maintain a lavish lifestyle, one spends more than he earns. To meet his lavish lifestyle, he has to take a loan or make compromises. One who lives a simple lifestyle doesn’t have to compromise or take a loan or be stressed about monetary joys. If you live simply, you will get time to think about the other important aspects. You will not be stressed. Instead, you will be peaceful at heart. High thinking means to think positively and for the betterment of oneself and humanity.

If you are not stressed or worried, it will positively affect one’s life, so you should always live simply. If you eat healthy food, exercise properly, think positively, stay happy, it will lead to happy & healthy life. I would like to end by quoting, ‘A person should never be judged by his clothes; for simplicity lies in simple living & high thinking.’

Happiness and Tolerance: Sandeep Singh

The happiness which is achieved through material things is called temporary happiness. The real meaning of happiness is showing contentment. This contentment comes through the process of meditation. The activity of doing meditation can make children deeper thinkers. It also improves concentration and generally gains greater self- understanding and peace of mind. Life is full of joy. So we should make our children appreciate and acknowledge all our feelings and let it feel them positively

Tolerance means the ability to tolerate something. Children can develop their tolerance skills through listening to other people’s views, respecting each other, showing patience, understanding the needs of others and showing appreciation for everyone’s differences. Tolerance also means rejecting unfair stereotypes, discovering common ground and creating new bonds. When teachers encourage tolerant attitudes in their children, talk about their values, and model the behaviour they would like to see by treating others well, kids will follow their footsteps.

Happiness and Tolerance - Nikita Rajpurohit

Students always have the tendency to grasp things in different ways which may not always
be what we would like to portray to them. As teachers, we are expected to maintain a balance between students’ happiness as well as class discipline.

Happiness and Tolerance are like two sides of the same coin where the students, as well as the teachers, may face difficulty in applying them in their every-day lives. A classroom incident to which we as teachers or reminiscing our school days may relate to is given in the following short story.

So there's this one student in Class IX who has been good in academics, good in sports, moreover he is well-disciplined, but there's only one thing that he is lacking, that is tolerance and that too when he has done a mistake unintentionally and he gets a scold from the teacher, he loses all his cool and becomes the real opposite of what he actually is...

He feels happy when he succeeds in anything, be it academic, sports, arts, anything but once he gets a sign of failure, he doesn't seem to care what he speaks or what is he doing...
I noticed it many times and I was a bit curious to know a solution for him where he can be happy and tolerant at even bad situations. So one day, I entered the class, called him up and asked for his notebook, and I was really glad to see that he is all checked with his work. Still, I made a quick comment by saying, “You should pay attention to your handwriting, my dear."At the very moment, he listened to my statement and became red in anger and said,” I won't do anything now". And yes, he was in the intolerance phase now.

I called another student who had not completed his work and asked him to improve his handwriting and with that, the second student replied, "Yes ma'am, I will". Then I took the first student (the main kid) outside the classroom and made him sit on a chair and said, " You see even though he didn't complete his work, I was aware of that but when I suggested him the same thing I did to you, he was very polite with his answer and I know he will definitely pay attention to his handwriting. On the same place, you're a good student and we expect you to be the best as you are, and if you take our suggestions positively, it will be you who will be good at everything. I hope you understood my kid".

The next day when I entered the school gate, he came up with a smile and apologized for yesterday's scenario and said," From today onwards, I will not be angry at anything and really try to take your suggestions in a productive way".

This made me very glad, seeing a student like him who understood the concept of happiness and tolerance...
