Unity and Caring - Prakash Dangi

Unity is a very important value in human life. Doing any work United for completing any special

work or goal is called unity. It means being together or well connected to everyone. We all know that a common phrase is " Unity is strength". It means standing together in thick and thin. I remember when I was a child, this value was explained by a chapter in my textbook. This chapter had a short story which is based on the importance of unity. It explained that one stick can be easily broken.

On the other hand, to break a bundle of the stick is really difficult or impossible. So we recognize the power of unity. It has great value at every stage of life. So Our first duty is to maintain in our life. Unity is the root of success in every great work. It gives us the strength to face the difficult situation without becoming weaker, mentally or physically. Unity is the teamwork of players which help them to win matches and bring pride to their school, country and yourself. 

It helps us in enjoying every moment. On the other hand, Caring is when you do a good deed for someone because it is the right thing to do. When you care for someone, you make a difference in the world with kindness. I believe that caring for others is beautiful and noble. Great teachers care about their students. They want them to succeed and are committed to helping them achieve their goals. 

Moreover, teachers care about their students’ happiness, well-being and life beyond the classroom.

A student is far more responsive to a teacher who cares, and is, therefore, more likely to learn and engage. Connecting with your students establishes trust, which is important to the students’ learning because it makes them comfortable enough to participate, ask for help when needed, and pay closer attention to advice and encouragement. It is being compassionate and supporting people as they go through tough times. It is a good trait for everyone to have and the world will be a better place if we care for one another.

Simplicity and Trust - Prakash Dangi

Simplicity is the most important part of human nature. It is the state or quality of being

simple. Something is simple or complex depending on the way how we describe it. That means we should be simple with our personality and ideas without any showoff. If we talk about school life there also we adapted simplicity to achieve the goal in a short time. And opposite to it, we can show off anything that we move away from our goals. 

When we talk about simplicity, there are some people who come in my mind such as Mahatma Gandhi, APJ Abdul Kalam, Mother Teresa etc. Mahatma Gandhi was a very great freedom fighter but he was a very simple man. The most important proverb that we remember is Mahatma Gandhi " Simple living, high thinking". I will share one incident of APJ Abdul Kalam's life. In 2013, APJ Abdul Kalam went to attend the graduation ceremony in IIT Badlapur. He saw seven chairs arranged on the stage but the centre chair was different from the other chair. Kalam was disappointed and told the organiser to change the chair immediately and bring it to the same chair, then he attended the ceremony. So this incident shows the simplicity of APJ Abdul Kalam. We should tell the stories of great people to our students to build simplicity in life.

I think simplicity and trust work together. If people are simple, then we can trust them. This is because we feel quite comfortable with them. I will share one story on trust. It's about a pilot flying a plane. Lots of people were travelling on the plane. Suddenly, the weather was bad and the pilot could not see the way. All people were frightened but there was a small girl who was playing with her doll. She was very calm and people could see no fear on her face. Everyone was shocked to see the girl. After some time, the weather changed and the sky was clear. 

One man  came near a small girl and asked her, "Why you were not scared when the plane lost its control?"The child replied, "Because the pilot of the plane is my father and I am sure that he will put all his efforts to save me and he will not let anything happen to me". This story depicts the trust of a daughter on her father. So I think to create a healthy environment in the classroom for learning, we should listen to students carefully, try to solve the problem of students,  give equal opportunity to every student, etc. If these things are applied, then we will definitely build trust in students. "Trust doesn't need any verification, if things are to be verified, then there  is no trust."

एक हँसी जिंदगी जीने का तरीका

यूँ जमीन पर बैठकर क्यों आसमान देखता है

पंखों को खोल जमाना सिर्फ उड़ान देखता है

लहरों की तो फितरत ही है शोर मचाने की

मंज़िल उसी की होती है जो नजरों में तूफान देखता है ।

एक बार एक जोकर ने दर्शकों से भरी हुई सर्कस में एक बहुत ही लाजवाब जोक सुनाया, जोक इतना शानदार था कि हँसते-हँसते दर्शकों की आँखों से आँसू गिरने लगे, दर्शक जब शांत हुए तो जोकर ने फिर से वहीँ जोक  उससे भी ज्यादा जोश के साथ सुनाया, एक बार फिर दर्शकों के चेहरे पर हँसी आ गयी,  जोकर ने फिर वही  जोक तीसरी बार सुनाया, इस बार दर्शकों की हँसी केवल मुस्कान में बदल गयी, और जोकर ने जब चौथी बार इसी जोक को फिर से सुनाया तो किसी दर्शक को हँसी नहीं आई। 

भीड़ में से एक दर्शक चिल्लाया “ क्यूँ बार-बार एक ही जोक सुना कर बोर कर रहे हो। ”तब जोकर ने  वहाँ बैठे लोगों से पूछा: जब मेरे एक जोक पर आप बार-बार हँस नहीं सकते तो फिर आप अपनी  जिंदगी में की गयी एक ही गलती को बार-बार सोच कर क्यूँ परेशान होते रहते हैं, क्यूँ एक ही चीज  को लेकर एक ही जगह पर रूक जाते हैं और जिंदगी में आगे नहीं बढ़ते. याद रखो कि-हम इंसान हैं  गलतियाँ करना हमारी फितरत में है, इन्ही गलतियों से हम सीखते हैं और आगे बढ़ते हैं। 

इस दुनिया का हर आविष्कार किसी न किसी के द्वारा की गयी गलतियों से सीखने का ही परिणाम है, एक छोटे से बिजली के बल्ब से लेकर इस दुनिया का बड़े से बड़ा जहाज तक, कुछ भी पहली बार में परफेक्ट नहीं था, इन्हें बनाने में लोगों ने बार-बार गलतियाँ की फिर उन गलतियों से सीखा और आगे बढ़ते  चले गये, इस दुनिया के हर महान कहलाने वाले इंसान ने अपनी जिंदगी में बहुत बड़ी-बड़ी  गलतियाँ की हैं लेकिन वो कभी रूके नहीं।

फिर आप लोग अपनी छोटी-छोटी गलतियों को लेकर क्यूँ हमेशा खुद को कोसते रहते हो, क्यूँ अपने चारों  ओर एक अनदेखी सी दीवार खडी कर रक्खी है, याद रखिये आप इंसान हैं, और इंसान का इतिहास है कि वो जबसे वजूद मेंआया तबसे उसने गलतियाँ की और उनसे सीखते हुए आज इस मुकाम तक पहुँचा, इसलिए  अपनी की हुई गलतियों के लिए खुद को जिंदगी भर सजा मत दीजिये। अपनी गलतियों से सीखो और आगे  बढ़ जाओ – ये खुबसूरत जिंदगी आपकी तरफ बाँहें फैला कर खड़ी है आगे बढ़ो और लगा लो इसे सीने से!

Good Teachers Explain, Great Teachers Enliven

A good teacher goes to the classroom and explains the lesson or his/her topic. The teachers' aim is to make children aware of that topic and children should learn the answer for their assessments and secure a good position in the classroom.

The great teacher teaches in the classroom with live examples of their life and with the clear aim of explaining that topic. The children can then use their experience in future and the knowledge in their daily life.  For an example, if a teacher teaches them Electoral Politics she can show the children complete process of voting in the classroom.  Thus, in future they can use their voting writes properly and can become a good citizen of democratic India.

Good Teachers Explain; Great Teachers Enliven!

Yes, it is true that good teachers explain and great teachers enliven while teaching. A good teacher has the knowledge, critical thinking and all other faculties of intelligence are important. However, a great teacher should be much more than experience and intelligence. 

A great teacher shows kindness to students, colleagues, parents and those around him/her. Kindness makes the world go around. It truly changes the environment in the classroom and school. Being a kind teacher helps students feel welcomed, cared for and loved. 

A great teacher is always compassionate, empathetic, positive, builder and inspiring. The teachers always look to make things better and improve things in and outside of the classroom. A great teacher finds out the hidden qualities of a student and inspires him or her to be a better person.

Being a positive person is not an easy task. Being a positive teacher is even harder when we’re always met with problems with very limited solutions. Empathy is such as important trait to have and to try to develop in ourselves and our students. Being able to put yourself in someone’s shoes and see things from their perspective can have such a powerful impact on our decisions and actions.

Good Teachers Teach, Great Teachers Enliven

What is great teaching? Great Teaching is the ability to distinguish between what can and needs to be explained and what cannot be explained. An educator can be a great teacher when he delivers his lectures with a natural expression of life and not mind.

A great teacher is when he teaches with enthusiasm and in response when his student is able to discover that they can understand and appreciate learning visually and spatially than through the privileged textual forms. A teacher should have the ability to get his students to think critically, creatively and carefully. A teacher should not just keep on talking; instead, he should engage his students in the conversation respectfully.

A teacher should plan exciting lessons if he wants 100% engagement of students in his lessons. A great teachers mission should be to draw out the best from his learners. If we can make our students socially conscious and make them lead a just and other’s centred life then we can call our self a great teacher.

Great Educators are those who do not label their children as ‘slow learners’, dull student’ but they listen to them, understand their problem, know their aspirations and then remove their despair and instil confidence in them. They should treat students challenges as opportunities and plan their lessons to solve their student’s problems.

The Great Depression & World War Two - Investment of Bloodshed - Udita Gangwani

Foreword 

A timeline of events that occurred through the course of the Great Depression and World War 2 written based on the home front (Canada).

I chose to create a family of that time and follow them through the span of the twenty years. The family has varied backgrounds and connections which allow the characters to be impacted by the majority of events taking place during the 30's and 40's. The story is written in the form of excerpts from a girl's journal, which talks about the key events that occurred during the time of hardship.

THE BENEDIKT FAMILY

The Benedikt Family is a German family living in Canada with two boys (Conrad and Christof) and one daughter (Evelyn). The mother is a Japanese Canadian (Aina) that married a German. They family is well settled in the 1920’s and are blessed with success and prosperity. Also, the father (Alekzander) has a younger brother who is a businessman in Germany, his brother Gustaf visits Canada once every two years. Both brothers grew up in Canada and hold strong ties with Canada, especially Alekzander who fought for Canada in WW1. This family experiences the Great Depression and WW2 in extreme measures.
