ScooNews Global Educators Fest 2024

It was a truly enlightening experience for me to recently have the honour of attending the ScooNews Global Educators Fest 2024 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. 

Visionary educators and innovators from throughout the nation attended the event with the shared goal of influencing the direction of education.

Key Takeaways:

Holistic Development: The conference reminded us that our responsibilities go beyond the classroom, from teaching school subjects to moral education, interpersonal skills, and social skills.

Focus on Vocational Education: Educators led a masterful track on vocational education that was incredibly informative. Their talks about closing the knowledge gap between academia and business offered insightful viewpoints. The seminar emphasized practical skills and real-world experience.

Leadership and Partnership: Meeting innovative thinkers and school administrators from different backgrounds confirmed my belief that an intellectually vibrant community of educators and thinkers can do wonders for the overall welfare of Indian education. 

Reading as a Pedagogy: Storybook reading is disregarded mainly by parents and the school. Reading fosters connections between the LSRW and is crucial to children's development. Reading and reflecting help students learn more effectively; reflection is essential to overall growth.

 

Jaipur's warm welcome and dynamic culture gave the conference a special touch. A well-planned educational product exhibition with friends, sharing a great supper with other teachers who quickly became close friends, and rushing to lecture rooms reminiscent of our college days! 

I'm happy to be part of ScooNews for putting together such an influential event, and I'm looking forward to using the information I gained to improve my teaching-learning community!

Dr Swati Popat Vats is the founder President of Early Childhood Association India, an association that works for quality care and education of our youngest citizens (0 to 6 years). Dr Vats is President of Podar Education Network and she leads over 290 preschools and Daycares as founder Director of Podar Jumbo Kids. She is also the National representative for the World Forum Foundation.

She is Nursery Director of Little Wonders Nursery (UAE) that has branches in Jumeirah and Sharjah.  She has received many accolades and awards for her contribution to Early Childhood Education and has been conferred the Fellowship of Honor from the New Zealand Tertiary College. She was the founder consultant for the Euro Kids preschool project in India and helped set up TATASKY’s children’s television activity channel- ACTIVE WHIZKIDS. She is the founder expert on the world’s first video-based parenting website www.born-smart.com that helps parents understand and nurture brain development in the first 1000 days.

Learning Forward India Professional Development Programme (PDP) is an extended and profound learning experience that immerses members in a model of inquiry and problem-based learning. Staff members work collaboratively to gain knowledge to solve significant student learning problems in their schools. We seek to understand individual members' needs and then assist them in meeting objectives through a collaborative learning environment and with the support of experienced coaches. The training programme comprises of Workshops, Webinars, Staff Exchange with partner schools, eLearning and finding solutions to not only teach but learn and help the school deliver better. The PDP is based on the philosophy of 'Schools Can Change', developed by Lick, Clauset and Murphy. The Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) take charge of their own learning by establishing Whole Faculty Study Groups (WFSGs) and Action Teams.

Established in 1967, the event provides opportunities for Gold Award holders to contribute to the development of the Award Programme on a national and international level. It also allows young people to have their say on the International Award Association’s (IAA) governance structures and meet other Gold Awardees from around the world.
 
Youth Representatives elected at the IGE’s Youth Forum serve on the International Council - the highest decision-making body of the IAA. This gives young people an opportunity to be part of the IAA’s policy making and planning processes, ensuring that they are relevant to young people. "

Annual Gold Event 2010

Annual Gold Award Holders' Summit will be held in December 2010. We welcome suggestions and will be happy to partner with young people and friends to make this  a big success.
