War Vs Peace- Vani Vij

It's important for students to understand that War and Peace represent opposite ends of the conflict spectrum. War involves armed conflicts, violence, and hostility between nations or groups, often resulting in destruction and loss. On the other hand, Peace signifies a state of harmony and cooperative coexistence.

War brings profound human suffering, causing loss of lives, displacement of communities, and long-lasting psychological trauma. Infrastructure is ravaged, economies collapse, and education and healthcare systems crumble. The environmental impact is severe, with destruction of ecosystems and pollution. Wars also fuel hatred and resentment, fostering cycles of violence and unrest that can persist for generations. Overall, the devastating consequences of war extend far beyond the battlefield, affecting societies on multiple levels.

Diplomacy, negotiation, and understanding play pivotal roles in maintaining peace. Through diplomatic channels, nations can address conflicts peacefully, fostering open communication and mutual respect. Negotiation allows parties to find common ground, compromise, and reach agreements that serve the interests of all involved. Understanding each other's perspectives promotes empathy, reducing the likelihood of misunderstandings and conflict escalation. These diplomatic efforts contribute to the creation of stable international relations, fostering a world where conflicts are resolved through dialogue rather than violence.

Peace is crucial for students as it provides a conducive environment for learning and personal growth. In a peaceful setting, students can focus on their studies without the disruptions and anxieties caused by conflicts. It promotes a sense of safety, enabling them to explore ideas, express themselves, and collaborate with peers. Peace also nurtures positive mental health, allowing students to develop critical thinking skills, empathy, and a broader perspective on global issues. Ultimately, a peaceful environment fosters an atmosphere where education thrives, contributing to the well-being and success of students.

What Makes A School? - Reflection January 2024

List 5 words that come to your mind when hearing the word "School"?

The Teacher's Academy

The five words that come to my mind when I hear the word School -

Learning, teachers, friends, activities & bell. "Building a relationship with children is by far the most important thing a teacher can do. Without a solid foundation & relationships built on trust & respect, no quality learning will happen." The role of school in building social skills is vital as it will ensure that students develop the ability to interact with people from different backgrounds and understand them better. The role of school cannot be stressed enough when it comes to building interpersonal and communication skills among kids. It not only helps them find new friends and expand their social circle but also helps build close ties with teachers through class discussions, activities, group work, celebrating festivals together etc.

I see school as a place where a community comes together to learn, collaborate and experience growth. It's like a mini-world where everyone plays a unique role. The admin and rules act as the bones, providing structure, while teachers and students bring it to life, like flesh and blood. If we view the school as a place of work, learning, sharing, and conscious engagement, it becomes a dynamic space resembling the play of life.

Each person's role in this play is in their hands, shaping the overall experience. Considering this, I feel a sense of responsibility and excitement. It's like having a part to play in this mini version of life, contributing to the collective journey of knowledge and growth.

Five words that come to my mind when I hear the word 'School' are -

1. Learning
2. Community
3. Knowledge
4. Growth
5. Interaction

In a nutshell, for me a school is a vibrant ecosystem where minds intertwine, creating a dynamic blend of community, workplace, and a stage for lifelong learning. Indeed, the school mirrors a microcosm of life, with administrators, buildings, rules, teachers, students, and others contributing to a symphony of shared experiences. And, yes, the lead of each person's role in the school is similar to a delicate dance, influenced by their unique steps and rhythms, ultimately shaping the collective narrative. Reflecting on this, there's a sense of being part of a complex mosaic, where every thread woven by individuals contributes to the rich and diverse fabric of the school, leaving me intrigued and curious.

School life - "The leaves of memory make a mournful rustle in the dark"... School life is filled with its unique share of joys and sorrows. Even if one is at the pinnacle of success, School memories are an inseparable part of the journey. I have had some amazing Angels in the form of Teachers helping, and guiding me. Just like our heroic character 'Roma' in the book, I have had Teachers who made me a beautiful individual irrespective of the caste, religion or gender that I belonged to; and that has made all the difference. Maybe that is the reason why I chose Teaching as my "calling" (it would be sacrilege to call it a 'profession'). My School, my Alma Mater... forever and ever etched in my memories and soul.

Simplicity and Trust - Arav Agarwal

Lesson - Simplicity and Trust on 09.07.2022

1.       Simplicity

Simplicity is living a simple life and understanding everything just as it is simple. If we feel our mind has made our life complicated, we can start using a few techniques like deep breathing and self-reflection, which will also help to clear our unnecessary thoughts.

Things I will carry out in class.

ü  Connecting students with nature. Studying outside in nature will help students understand our needs' Simplicity. Nature is the best way to teach how everything is so simple, just the way it is. Also, nature helps to connect with the Simplicity within all of us.

"Nature is pleased with simplicity." — Sir Isaac Newton

Trust

Trust is the foundation of all values; Trust is having belief and faith in something or someone. Teacher and student relationship is based on the foundation of trust. The trust of a teacher in their students gives the student confidence to perform in class and in life. Also, the trust of a student in their teacher provides the teacher with hope for the future.

Things I will carry out in class.

ü  Doing team activities in class builds trust that the team members are there to support each other.

ü  Make five minutes the trust minutes where we share about ourselves with each other and appreciate.

"None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet still we go forward. Because we trust. Because we have faith."
―
Paulo Coelho

The connection between Simplicity and trust – Trust the Simplicity of life. Life is simple. We have to keep the faith and trust it.
