Heart Vs Mind - Sunbeam School Sarnath

The video HEART VS MIND highlights the contrast between emotion and reason. The heart drives decisions through feelings and passion, while the mind relies on logic and analysis. A balance between both is crucial—too much emotion can lead to turmoil, while excessive logic may make life rigid. Adolescents often follow their hearts due to their developing brains, causing communication gaps and anger issues. Instead of being rigid, adults should practice soft power—being assertive yet patient—to guide them effectively.

Importance of Mental Health - Swabhi Parmar

   Courtesy:

Mental Health is not just a concept that refers to an individual’s psychological and emotional well being. Rather, it’s a state of psychological and emotional well-being where individuals can use their cognitive and emotional capabilities and meet the ordinary demand and functions in society. According to WHO, there is no single ‘official’ definition of mental health. Thus, many factors like cultural differences, competing professional theories, and subjective assessments affect how mental health is defined. Also, many experts agree that mental illness and mental health are not antonyms. So, in other words, when the recognized mental disorder is absent, it is not necessarily a sign of mental health.

One way to think about mental health is to look at how effectively and successfully a person acts. So, there are factors such as feeling competent, capable, handling the normal stress levels, maintaining satisfying relationships, and leading an independent life. Also, this includes recovering from difficult situations and being able to bounce back.  Mental health is related to the personality as a whole of that person. Thus, the most important function of school and education is to safeguard boys and girls' mental health. Physical fitness is not the only measure of good health alone. Rather it’s just a means of promoting mental as well as moral health of the child. The two main factors that affect the most are feeling of inferiority and insecurity. Thus, it affects the child the most. So, they lose self-initiative and confidence. This should be avoided, and children should be constantly encouraged to believe in themselves.

Self Motivation - Nikita Rajpurohit

Motivation is a very strong tool that we can use to get further in life to achieve our dreams and goals.
Setting goals for ourselves is something that I consider to be very important, I believe in always pushing myself further and further in life, not only physically but mentally as well. We all have different things or tools we can use to motivate us towards our end goals. In order for us to stay motivated, we have to have a goal and be driven towards achieving that goal.

Self-motivation is the window of a room with a closed-door that keeps you reminding that there is always a way to achieve things you desire. Wanting to do something and motivating yourself to actually do it are two different things. The difference between those who never reach their goals, even after years and years, and those who achieve one goal after another is nothing but their self-motivation, it’s the positive inner force that pushes them to move further and help them achieve their goals.

When you think you want to give up on something, or you just don’t know how and where to start from, your self-motivation is the key that unlocks the door for you to explore and achieve. With self-motivation, learn and grow – regardless of the hurdles coming in your way. That’s why it’s such a fundamental tool for reaching your goals, achieving your dreams, and succeeding, in this journey called life.

Positive thinking is an important element to build strong self-confidence. It’s important to look at things positively, especially when things aren’t going as per plans and you really want to give up. If you keep thinking negative about things or you feel you won’t succeed, it may influence things around you in such a way that all your negative predictions will come true which will make you more and more upset.

This happens in the cases where you need to work hard to achieve your goals, or if you need to persuade others to support you in order to succeed. Your thoughts have a major influence on your success or failure, so make sure those thoughts are “on your side.”

Focusing on your goals is also an important part to keep yourself motivated. When you have many goals, always schedule your time and resources effectively. You can achieve the “focus” part of self-motivation by prioritizing and establishing a schedule that will help you succeed in accomplishing your work more effectively. It doesn’t make sense to work until you’re exhausted or give up one goal to achieve another or just simply doing half of every work and completing none. So always keep motivating and stay motivated

Simplicity and Trust - Bharti Rao

Simplicity is when you are less complex. If you're less complex then you will be able to communicate with others effectively. Learning comes when you're simple and this leads to creativity. Simplicity helps to create a learning environment and also helps us to connect with our students. There are many personalities who are down to earth and so are recognised.

If you're simple then you are understandable and this helps you to gain respect and trust. A culture of trust should be built-in schools. Trust is a part of healthy relationships. Educators who are responsible for nurturing the students should be simple in their dealings. An educator should always listen actively to their students, then the only trust will be built between them and the student will share his desires, pain to his teacher.

Empathy and motivation by a teacher help the students to trust their teacher. Trust is a common factor in schools where relationships between the students, parents, teachers and community are built. We show our trust in Students by giving them responsibilities. This helps them to inculcate leadership qualities and build relationships. Respect everyone's opinion, provide opportunities to others and interaction helps to build trust. In the end, I would like to quote"When the trust is high, communication is easy, instant and effective.". - Bharti Rao, The Fabindia School.

Responsibility and Cooperation - Byju Joseph

Responsibility is a virtue to be possessed by everyone. It is a positive action towards a goal to fulfil. It makes a person think properly and take the necessary action to achieve it. Responsibility is also the dedication to perform certain duties. As a human being, as a citizen of the country, as a member of society and as a member of the family, we all should do our duties effectively.

Those who are responsible for everything become more confident in their actions. It helps them to develop self-respect and self-control. Thus it helps them to develop their personality. Hence it is one of the personality traits. Responsibility will be varied in person to person according to their situations and positions. Being educators we have much more duties that the character formation of children is in our hands and that must be carried out carefully. It is the duty of educators to provide knowledge but it does not mean education. It is part of education only. Inculcating and nurturing the values in children and making aware of the importance of them are the major duties of educators. The goal of each educator is to make their children better citizens of the country.

As a parent, we have the responsibility to take care and provide all facilities to our children. There are many adverse circumstances in our life which may tend to deviate from our duties and responsibilities. The strong will power only will help us to deal with such situations. As a social being, we all depend on each other in some of the other ways. So it is very important to share or help each other. Then it becomes an act of working together for a common purpose. It is exactly the cooperation.

By cooperation, we are accepting and respecting the thoughts and ideas of others. Through this, we learn to work with the help of others as a team. In an institution or a company or any work site each and everyone to cooperate to accomplish the task assigned. Then there will be a common responsibility but individual responsibility is equally important. In the present education system, the teacher has a role of facilitator but it does not mean to deviate from responsibilities. It is there, at the same time students have responsibilities towards their duties. In the teaching-learning process mutual understanding and cooperation are essential. They should perform their duties and put their hundred per cent efforts to achieve better results. It is not an inborn trait, so it should be developed by everyone at an early age.

Children are not bothered about their responsibilities but from their parents and teachers, they gradually learn and become responsible individuals. Teachers have the duty to make their students understand the importance of taking responsibilities. It is possible by assigning certain positions or works on a regular basis. Then they will surely cooperate with teachers and perform their duties well.

Bharti Rao: Writing is a Windowpane

Writing is the ability to convert thoughts or words or an act of reflection. Writing skills are an important part of communication. Reading and Writing go on together.  To learn writing  it is not so difficult, it can be learned like any other skills.

Good writing skills help to communicate with thoughts and opinions effectively. A writer is a writer. Everyone can write, but not all can be a writer. But if you improve your writing skills you can become a good writer.

When we write,  our brain uses every part of our memory and cells which helps to increase our creativity and imagination. Writing skills helps to improve our communication,  debating and speech skills.

Writing is an art which helps us to focus and connect with oneself.  We should never be discouraged if we are not able to write effectively.  To improve our writing skills we should start with short and simple sentences.  We should use simple words. Slowly by slowly, we will be able to improve our vocabulary and then this will help us to be good writers.

Reading,  speaking helps us to become good writers. Educators need to create a classroom environment that is conducive to writing. Good writers are better readers and their critical thinking is improved. To improve their writing skills students should read-aloud and then pen down their thoughts and express themselves.  Words are powerful so educators should motivate and inspire their students to develop their writing skills.

You learn to write better by reading,
You learn to read better by writing,
Reading and Writing work together to improve your ability to think!
