Determination - Bharti Rao

Determination is the positive feeling in us that helps us overcome any obstacle and reach our goal. Determination motivates us to go on further & not to stop. According to Thomas Edison, the inventor of light, when he failed thousand times, he said, ‘I have not failed! I’ve just found 1000 ways that wouldn’t work.’ Many more such great people didn’t stop but reached their goal with their sheer determination.

Many times some horrific setbacks lead people to be determined and live the best of their life. I would like to share my daughter’s story with you all where she showed her determination and achieved her goal. My daughter Vaishali was not so good in her studies, especially her Science & Math. She was also not good at Sports. She never participated in games. She always sat under the tree chatting with her friends under the tree.

Her turning point in her life came after her results of Class X. After that, she was determined to prove herself. She started participating in games and reached State Level in Badminton. She represented JNVU University at College Level. She joined NCC and participated in Republic Parade at Jaipur. It was all because she was determined to prove herself. She worked hard not only in Sports but also in Academics. She secured first division in Class XII & graduated. In her MBA, she secured distinction. She also became the Head Girl in her school and received the trophy of Excellence in Skill. With her hard work, perseverance & determination, she pushed herself to reach her goal.

It is rightly said that determination motivates us to improve ourselves, make positive changes in our lives, and increase our chances of success. It enables us to build dreams, live healthier lives, and strengthen our relationships with others.

Determination - Arvind Singh

Every champion has felt it; every victorious person has felt it, THE URGE to quit. Don't give up on your dream despite any circumstances. It may take you twice as long. Now you have to decide whether you are so concerned about accomplishing your goals. In this whole journey, what may play an important role is one and only DETERMINATION. How determined you are to do the things up and above. 'wake up with the determination and sleep with satisfaction. That is all you need to do.

Determination brings an urge to do the work in a person, and it may vary from person to person. In this age of competition, this is the only thing that will make u stand apart and high in your journey. Determination is followed by consistency, will urge, and NO EXCUSES. There are vast differences between I need something and I am determined about that particular thing. The other factor that helps is HOPE; it also plays a vital role, as a person holding their nerves with hope is invincible. A person must indulge in introspection just to assess their strengths and weakness.

I just want to conclude my opinion by saying 'A person with strong determination is the winner in himself. You have won half of the battle, champ.'

Be a Dreamer - Prakash Dangi

Everyone has a dream in his life which they want to achieve when they grow up. Some kids want to become rich to buy anything ande want to be a doctor, lawyer, or engineer. But only you know that for achieving these goals, you have to work hard and stay attentive to them. In this essay on my dream, we will discuss the basic things that will help achieve my dream.

Some dream requires time, and they follow a process without following it you cannot achieve that dream.

1. Staying Motivated
Lack of motivation is one of the main causes that force a person to leave his dream behind. So, staying motivated is also part of the goal. And if you can’t stay positive, then you won’t be able to achieve the dream. There are many people out there that quit the journey of their dreams mid-way because they lack motivation.

2. Keep Remembering Goal
For completing the dream, you have to keep your dream in mind. And remind this dream daily. There come hard times when you feel like quitting. At those times, just remember the goal. It helps you stay positive. And if you feel like you messed up big times, then start over with a fresh mind.

3. Take Some Breaks
Working towards your goal does not mean that you work day and night without stopping. Apart from that, due to continuous efforts, people soon start to become de-motivated. So, taking a break will help your body and mind. For doing so, take a break in between your schedule for some time and Take Some Breaks.

4. Don’t Hesitate to Make Mistakes
We human beings fear making mistakes but e forget an important point that is a mistake that that helps us learn. Whenever you make a mistake, you face a tough time, but these tough times helps you to polish yourself and be more determined.

Importance of Social and Emotional Learning - Bharti Rao

Social & Emotional Learning provides a foundation for safe and positive learning. The whole focus of institutions should be more on learning than on teaching. Focus on learning helps to enhance the students’ abilities to succeed in school, career and life.

As Educators, we need to find different motivational ways to engage the students in learning to behave positively and perform academically. We need to find the potential of a student and help him grow accordingly. Mastery of Social & Emotional aspects will help us go a long way, but we need to practice empathy. Empathy needs to be inculcated in the student’s, and they will be able to recognize other’s emotions.

Social & Emotional Learning helps enhance their relationship skills, establishes & maintains a healthy, rewarding relationship. You inculcate the value of empathy and compassion. SEL helps one to become a responsible decision-maker, creates self-awareness & self-confidence. It inculcates communicative & collaborative skills in the students.

As Educators, we know that all our students are different. Hence, we need to understand our students, find their potential, develop their skills according to their ability, invite their experience, and sharpen their dreams. Emphasizes should be laid down on the all-round development of the student. The need of the hour is to develop one’s social and emotional learning in schools and at home, and in society.

Ambition - Nikita Rajpurohit

Courtesy: twitter.com
Almost everyone dreams of something while growing up. We all have ambitions when we are little, which change as we grow up. Ambitions lead us to a definite aim in life. Furthermore, they help us focus on our goal no matter the cost. It drives us to do better in life. Ambitions differ from one person to another.

However, one common thing usually found is that over time, people switch their ambition to something else than that which they wished to be when little. We have many people in the medical field who wanted to be dancers. Similarly, some of the greatest politicians wanted to be artists. So we see how easily one gives up on their dreams and ambition to adapt to society.

Ambition is a great incentive to work. A life without ambition is like an arrow without a target. Seneca rightly said, "If one does not know which port one is sailing, no wind is favourable". Ambition is a dream with a deadline. All successful people have ambition. No one can get anywhere unless he knows where he wants to go and what he wants to be or do. Precisely, ambition is the path to success. So we all should have ambition in our life to become successful.

Living your Life to the fullest - Richa Solanki

Life is very complicated as you all know, it is never same as before or after. Something and something is changing always, the changes are around you,  in you, or maybe inside you. Sometimes we also have no answer that the breaks or challenges we are facing are what,  why and how the problems are unlimited.

Sometimes there is no solution and no conclusion. We never think that problems that are arriving in our life are literally our own mistake, we are very close to us only and always blame others, and say I am too far away from me.

Some people always judge life by luck, all things happen due to good and bad luck of a person and say life has no feeling. If a person dreams or thinks they just say it is our luck. Life is large,  yet so small because we never accept the truth of our life. The things which we are thinking are too small but they are literally so big.

Dreams are colourful and beautiful, but sometimes we become blind when dreams make us sad. Don't disappoint yourself with its tinge of sourness,  we must live every moment and feel the edge and don't waste time. I may say life is a lovely road which has no end.  A lovely shore,  a lovely road where each aspect stands.

Life is what we make and develop. Some people appreciate it, others take it for granted. It depends on you,  how you want to be.  Happiness gives great times. Don't give sadness a dime,  enjoy life,  rejoice,  it deserves treatment. Because your existence is in its fulfilment. Make every moment count,  live the present, never think about the past because life just slowly fades away and you just wish you could never let the past go away.

Seek Discomfort - Urmila Rathore

Seek discomfort means a lot to humanity. Seek means to try to find and discomfort means to go out of comfort zone. Seek discomfort means to challenge yourself. It is to go beyond the "safety limits" and "comfort zone".

To me, it means getting out of your comfort zone as often as possible so that you can be a stronger and more experienced version of yourself. For example, a person who travels a lot becomes more comfortable with different cultural customs, foods, and lifestyles.

Seek discomfort, in my opinion, is one of the ways to success - it reminds us to achieve our dreams and also gives an adventurous life. There is a creator group named 'Yes Theory' who follows this motto too.

Similarly, we can overcome our fears and become comfortable in discomfort in many ways like,
  • Pushing our limits.
  • Meeting with different people.
  • Working hard for what we aspire.

Happiness and Tolerance - Dr Mona Khanna

Photo Courtesy The Doon School Weekly August 25, 2018, Issue No. 2510
“The key to happiness is the tolerance of those who do not do as you do." ~ Jeanette Winterson.”

We argue the most with the people most important to us, our family. As children, we are blissfully unaware of parental duties and oppose so many decisions that our parents make for us. As parents, we try to impose those same expectations on our children.

In today’s world, the generational gap is becoming increasingly evident and prominent. A member of Generation X, I am seldom in sync with the beliefs held by my Gen Z children. There are so many similarities and differences between their upbringing as compared to my own. Over the years, I’ve adjusted and adapted to their ideologies and principles as they have to mine. True happiness can only be achieved via harmony and mutual respect. Tolerance goes a long way in arriving at that harmony.

My son, Shiven, turned 20 years old recently, and I looked back at his critical decisions. It doesn’t matter if I agree or disagree with those decisions as long as he is satisfied with them and is making the most of his time. All my life has gone into studying and then teaching mathematics. My father was a civil engineer, my brother studied engineering while my daughter is pursuing medical. Safe to say, we are a science family.

Ever since a child, Shiven shared my interest in Maths and Science. It hardly came as a surprise when he opted for PCM, post his 10th results. His career path was structured, and I was happy that he knew what he wanted to do in life. Fast forward two years, and I was stuck at a crossroad, I had never imagined myself to be facing. Shiven had given the IPMAT exam for IIM Indore’s 5-year dual degree program. The exam was supposed to be a back-up, and we weren’t expecting him to clear without preparing. So when he got through and then decided to accept their offer letter, I was not ready.

For ten years, we had shared a vision. It was really tough to let go of that dream and drastically switch careers. Never in my wildest dreams did I envision Shiven to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree. Unprepared and confused, I sought counsel from many people on the program and curriculum. Shiven was adamant about joining, and I had to agree that the course was promising. Conflicting emotions led to unnecessary arguments that took time to mend.

It was a crucial point not just for him but for me as a parent as well. I was going to have to learn to tolerate and accept some of my children’s decisions. I am a staunch advocate of the philosophy, ‘‘Live and Let Live.’’ I have lived my life on my own accord, making my own decisions, many of which haven't panned out the way I expected them to. It is incredibly challenging seeing your loved ones make mistakes, even more so if you could help prevent them.

As Shiven enters his 3rd year at IIM Indore, I marvel at what he has been able to achieve over the last two years. We are never going to get everything that we hoped for. Nor is everyone going to follow your principles or listen to your advice all the time. If that were the case, the world would be deprived of different talented individuals and lack creativity.

Happiness and Tolerance go hand in hand. Keeping others happy, especially the ones you love, goes a long way towards your own happiness. At times, that requires tolerance, patience, and the ability to compromise.

Ambiguity is a ubiquitous part of life. A student may spend his entire two years preparing for the course without knowing if the search will be in vain. He may stare at an abstract painting on a gallery wall, uncertain if the vague shape is a bicycle or a product of his own imagination. The tendency to view ambiguous and uncertain situations as appealing versus threatening is known as ambiguity tolerance (Frenkel-Brunswik, 1949; Budner, 1962) or uncertainty intolerance (Freeston, Rhéaume, Letarte, Dugas, & Ladouceur, 1994). People who are more tolerant of ambiguity report being happier (Bardi, Guerra, Sharadeh, & Ramdeny, 2009), more motivated to learn (Tapanes, Smith, & White, 2009). As teachers, we should be prepared to be more tolerant of ambiguity and be flexible to tap the best potential of the child and allow them to be risk-takers, creative and make the world a happier place for themselves. Tolerance doesn’t just make peaceful coexistence possible, another advantage is that being open to other ways of thinking can help with personal development.

Teaching children about tolerance is the best gift that you can give them as teachers. Children shouldn’t grow up with feelings of hate and suspicion. Children who grow up with hate and jealousy of others turn into unhappy people. And children who are forced to believe certain opinions will develop into people who aren’t free or independent thinkers. Tolerance can help shift the attitudes toward others, leading us to a more productive and happy life.

Self Motivation - Nikita Rajpurohit

Motivation is a very strong tool that we can use to get further in life to achieve our dreams and goals.
Setting goals for ourselves is something that I consider to be very important, I believe in always pushing myself further and further in life, not only physically but mentally as well. We all have different things or tools we can use to motivate us towards our end goals. In order for us to stay motivated, we have to have a goal and be driven towards achieving that goal.

Self-motivation is the window of a room with a closed-door that keeps you reminding that there is always a way to achieve things you desire. Wanting to do something and motivating yourself to actually do it are two different things. The difference between those who never reach their goals, even after years and years, and those who achieve one goal after another is nothing but their self-motivation, it’s the positive inner force that pushes them to move further and help them achieve their goals.

When you think you want to give up on something, or you just don’t know how and where to start from, your self-motivation is the key that unlocks the door for you to explore and achieve. With self-motivation, learn and grow – regardless of the hurdles coming in your way. That’s why it’s such a fundamental tool for reaching your goals, achieving your dreams, and succeeding, in this journey called life.

Positive thinking is an important element to build strong self-confidence. It’s important to look at things positively, especially when things aren’t going as per plans and you really want to give up. If you keep thinking negative about things or you feel you won’t succeed, it may influence things around you in such a way that all your negative predictions will come true which will make you more and more upset.

This happens in the cases where you need to work hard to achieve your goals, or if you need to persuade others to support you in order to succeed. Your thoughts have a major influence on your success or failure, so make sure those thoughts are “on your side.”

Focusing on your goals is also an important part to keep yourself motivated. When you have many goals, always schedule your time and resources effectively. You can achieve the “focus” part of self-motivation by prioritizing and establishing a schedule that will help you succeed in accomplishing your work more effectively. It doesn’t make sense to work until you’re exhausted or give up one goal to achieve another or just simply doing half of every work and completing none. So always keep motivating and stay motivated

Hope and Friendship - Richa Solanki

Hope is the wish or dream that every person has in his life. Many of us could not even live a life
without having hope because if we see no way to our destiny then only hope deep inside the heart helps us to try again and again. Life is hard and has challenging phases at times. Things go out of hand and beyond our control many times. Hope helps us keep fighting on and improves the chances of making our life better.

Hope is the only thing that keeps our eyes wide open for an improved future and life. It’s very hard to keep trying and move on with the inner faith during the most difficult times, but those who never leave hope will surely make it till the end. Life is full of war and difficulties. But it’s not every time. We must keep our eyes full of dreams and wishes. Hope not only gives you the strength to overcome your pain, but it also makes your expectations alive and makes your future better.

We should not worry about if our today is bad but we should try to learn because there is something good in every day and it depends on our hopeful thinking. Hope keeps us telling that tomorrow will be better than today. When a person is hopeful for anything, the sorrow and difficulty of today will disappear. Hope keeps us positive. Always stay positive and think about good vibes and you will not lose courage and will make you stronger to fight with every situation. Hope gives positive thinking. It gives you such power to protect you from the negative vibes.

Friendship is an interpersonal relationship between two persons. It is a bond which creates such a mutual understanding. Not only this, but friends also help us grow spiritually. It is attached to our souls. Friends come in our life like to guide us, sometimes they become our family and best motivators and play their roles and help us to move on. We all have friends who are very close to us but they are far from us but our hearts are attached to each other. We should always remember them and some of them become best friends forever. Sometimes they drifted away from our life when their role as a guide was over.

Friends can not be described in simple words. It is important for us to have friends but many of us find it difficult to find a true friendship. We must not have high expectations in our mind, it will not be difficult to make friends. We must not expect much because it may hurt you so much. If you start with high hopes, the relationship is likely to sink. To fulfil anyone's expectations, we need to understand what is expected of them. This means understanding which is very important in every relationship. This is true that it takes some time.

When you try to start judging the person and his actions, there are so many things going in your mind that this person is fit for me or not and then your thinking doesn't match and you can't build a bond which creates a mutual understanding deeply. Hope always helps you to find true friendship in your life and then when you have a true friend you don't need a mirror because they are one who tells us truly about us what they see in us

Responsibility and Cooperation - Jitendra Suthar

When we say a person is responsible and very cooperative, it means that a person has the quality of
being kind to others. With the aim of helping everyone and not making others feel any kind of pressure is said to be a responsible person.

We all have two such unsung heroes in our life, who are responsible and kind at the most. First is the person who works hard to fulfil our dreams keeping all his dreams aside. That’s our father. Another one is the person who works hard to make us ready for the future, ready to fight any situation we are in, who always stands by us, who can never be biased. Yes, that’s our teacher.

Our both these heroes take our responsibility to shape us for the upcoming challenges. No matter what situations they are, they will always be cooperative to us. Even if situations are not in their control, they won’t let us feel so, wearing a smile starts working in a normal mood.

A father, who always stays with the thought of how he can give more to his child or his family, never stops working with all the responsibility. A teacher goes through a lot of pressure but never ever let these things affect teaching in the classroom and he is the most polite person we ever meet in our education time.

It is said “After your parents, it is your teacher who always thinks good for you” – Truly being in such a professional will be a proud moment for everyone.

How to Maintain Concentration - Prakash Dangi

Most of the time we get motivated by others and make new plans with full excitement,
collect some books and notes, etc. Sometimes we even take admission in some institutes and make a new routine. We think of never giving up until we reach our destination and promise ourselves to start the study with new expectations. But gradually, the excitement seems to get weak day by day. And after some days, we even stop putting in efforts in our studies.

This situation is faced by most of the students. It is not only in academics but also in many other sectors. When we don't concentrate, we lose our patience. It is very essential to be determined towards our goal to succeed well. You should choose the subject of your interest so that you don't regret selecting the subject suggested by others.

Sometimes we see the children choose the subject under parent’s pressure. Parents tell the students to choose a subject without even knowing their interest. Every person is unique and has different qualities. To know the inner talent of yourself and to maintain the concentration for a long time, it is important to find our inner qualities and proceed forward in that field. We don't understand immediately any subject. But we should learn a subject from the start and the basics. After that, we can solve problems easily and improve the subject slowly- slowly. To maintain the concentration, we need to have a big dream and some role model. Every day we should stay focused and think to complete our dreams. So, on the basis of my experience, if you follow these tips, definitely you will achieve your dreams.
