It Wasn’t Easy — That’s Why It’s Easy - Manisha Khanna

Our mind has a strange problem: it does not understand the word don’t. The moment we say, “I don’t want stress,” the mind says, “Okay, let me think about stress all day.” When we say, “I am not able to do this,” the mind calmly replies, “Alright, I will make sure you never do it.”

The mind is like a stubborn child. Tell it, “Don’t eat the chocolate,” and suddenly, chocolate becomes the purpose of life.

So instead of saying I can’t do this, we should say, How can I do this?”
The moment you change the sentence, the mind changes direction. Earlier, it was looking for excuses; now it starts looking for solutions.

When we say something is not achievable, we should treat it like a challenge, not a full stop. We should train our minds like a strict but funny coach:
Okay, dear mind, you think this is impossible? Fine. Now sit down, make a plan, learn the skills, try again, fail again, but we are not leaving this ground until we find a way.”

Life is actually a very funny teacher. First, it gives the exam, and then it teaches the lesson. Nothing worth achieving is easy, but the truth is — once we decide that ‘don’t’ is our new goal, the difficult road becomes interesting.

So next time when you say, “It’s not easy,” just add one more line:
“It wasn’t easy, that’s why it will be easy — because I will learn how.”

Like vs Unlike - Ayushi Chowdhry

Today, I want to talk about something that's really important to me, and I think to all of us: the power of "like" and "unlike". As students, we're constantly being asked to compare and contrast, to identify similarities and differences. But, have you ever stopped to think about what it means to "like" or "unlike" something?

When we say we "like" something, it's usually because it's familiar, comfortable, and easy to understand. We like things that make us feel good, that fit into our existing worldview. But, when we "unlike" something, it's often because it's unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or challenging. We unlike things that make us feel uncomfortable, that force us to question our assumptions.

As students, we're often encouraged to "like" things that are easy, straightforward, and unchallenging. We're rewarded for getting good grades, for following the rules, and for conforming to expectations. But, what about when we encounter things that are difficult, complex, and challenging? What about when we're forced to confront our own biases, prejudices, and assumptions?

That's when the power of "unlike" comes in. When we "unlike" something, it doesn't mean we reject it outright. It means we're willing to engage with it, to challenge our own assumptions, and to learn from it. It means we're willing to take risks, to step outside our comfort zones, and to explore new ideas and perspectives.

As students, we need to learn to "unlike" things, to question our assumptions, and to challenge our own biases. We need to learn to engage with difficult ideas, to confront our own discomfort, and to learn from our mistakes. Because, when we do, we open ourselves up to new possibilities, new perspectives, and new learning.

So, let's not be afraid to "unlike" things. Let's not be afraid to challenge our assumptions, to question our biases, and to engage with difficult ideas. Because, when we do, we'll discover that the power of "unlike" is not about rejecting something, but about embracing the unknown, and learning from it.

Humility and Appreciation - Laxmi Kant Bhatt

Children feel encouraged and confident when they are appreciated; in fact, every person feels encouraged when appreciated. To boost their confidence, I decided to perform a task which could contribute to my subject at school.
I came up with an idea to make an activity related to maths which could also be fun for the students.

With humility, I walked up to the principal and explained that we should provide a maths challenge every week and divide the students into junior and senior groups. Each group gets one question. The student who comes first with the correct solution will be the winner of the challenge. For appreciation, we will announce the child's name in the assembly, and the child will be rewarded.
My principal was very supportive of the idea and suggested that you take the winner child out for coffee, and we can call it coffee with the coach.
Cheered when ma'am accepted my idea, we announced the challenge in the assembly the next day and put the challenge on the notice board. Good response from the children, and we did get winners of the challenge. The winners were taken out for a coffee. The children felt obliged to go out for a coffee. They were full of excitement and felt appreciated for being awarded this way. The other children were encouraged by this and were discussing and excited about the new challenge. They approached me and continuously asked for a new challenge.

I am glad that the children enjoyed my activity.
This way, we found a good way to appreciate the children for their excellent work.

Self Awareness and Self Assurance - Swabhi Parmar

Exploring your hidden talents and competency is an indispensable facet of building self-confidence and courage. Challenge yourself, face your fears and do things that are most dreadful to you. You will see a new face of your personality in the process.

If you have some apparent fears, confront yourself with reasons for those fears and tell yourself that it isn’t that huge of a bargain. You will develop to become stronger and better.

When you understand yourself better in terms of your skillset and what precisely you expect from your life, you will have more conviction in yourself and what you can do. Confusion leads to confrontation, and when you, yourself, are unsure about your abilities and goals, you will not be able to channelize your energies towards a common goal. Therefore, self-awareness is central to self-assurance.

Self Confidence and having a focused approach in life can do wonders to your ability to handle any situation. It can have a gigantic effect on your self-confidence levels depending on how comfortably you move along in your way to effective self-management. Therefore, you must plan to become more agreeable and certain.

Seek Discomfort - Urmila Rathore

Seek discomfort means a lot to humanity. Seek means to try to find and discomfort means to go out of comfort zone. Seek discomfort means to challenge yourself. It is to go beyond the "safety limits" and "comfort zone".

To me, it means getting out of your comfort zone as often as possible so that you can be a stronger and more experienced version of yourself. For example, a person who travels a lot becomes more comfortable with different cultural customs, foods, and lifestyles.

Seek discomfort, in my opinion, is one of the ways to success - it reminds us to achieve our dreams and also gives an adventurous life. There is a creator group named 'Yes Theory' who follows this motto too.

Similarly, we can overcome our fears and become comfortable in discomfort in many ways like,
  • Pushing our limits.
  • Meeting with different people.
  • Working hard for what we aspire.

Better late than never - Kusum Dangi

Every person's nature and behaviour is not the same. Every human being also has different qualities. There were many scientists, many of whom were suffering from dyslexia, that means that even though they were really intelligent, but they could not express their intelligence. This does not mean that they did not express. They fought against it and overcame their problem.

If you do not succeed in life, if you fail the exam once, then you should not give up; instead, you should try again.  Next time you can get better success than before. Accept defeat, and you should work hard again without giving up, you should not change your goal by looking at the problems, but you should change your ways of working hard by finding the reasons for which you are failing, which can lead to easy success.

Always try hard like the spider who at last succeeded in weaving his web. The tortoise took up the challenge against the hare and slowly and steadily won the race. So, don't give up, it is better to be late than never.

Courage and Patience - Dynamic DGS

So we can see that patience is a virtue which is beneficial to everyone.

Patience does not only mean waiting. It's how we feel or behave while we are waiting. Patience makes us more tolerant.  People need to learn this quality from childhood. When we are impatient, we get frustrated and angry, which is not good for our health. It causes stress, not only to ourselves but to others around us. And the yoga competition bears testimony to this where patience and courage both played a major role in their success.

Self Reinvent - Richa Solanki

There is a phase in your life when you may need to learn how to reinvent yourself. This could come when you experience big things. If you are going through a major situation in your life or facing some challenges you may have to find new ways of thinking or doing things or take a risk.  You can also achieve this only when you take a leap of faith and make things happen for yourself.

Although it is important that you learn to rely on yourself when facing any challenge, it is also important to have a support of anyone who motivates and guide us if anyone is not, then be yourself motivator and this thing will come into your mind when you give a boost to your mind when things get too tough and to correct you when you’re making mistakes.

It is different between independence and dependence. Don’t be afraid to be sharing the difficulties you’re facing. When you open up, you’ll find the people who are really going to be there for you. During the process of learning how to reinvent yourself, you will have to pull yourself away from your past things, comfort zones, habits, and roles. Yes, it is difficult and you will question your self-worth, so it’s important to adopt in self-care to maintain positive thinking and keep your mind and body healthy as you face the challenges that come in your path.

If sometimes you want space then mention self-care by participating in a hobby you enjoy and spending time with your love ones. Taking some time to walk in nature. Practice love, kindness and meditation. Find what works for you and what helps you feel like your real self as you want a perfect version of you. To Reinvent Yourself, you have to sure that you are equipped with all the solutions that you are facing. Develop your strengths. This will provide valuable information on how you deal with certain situations. If you have this information, you will be able to manage difficulties more efficiently.

Responsibility and Cooperation: Urmila Rathore

Both responsibility and cooperation run parallel, which usually means - taking everyone together with a feeling of loyalty and dedication for each other.
When we talk of responsibility, we feel a different experience like - the whole part is on our shoulders and we will try to do it well but we cannot do it without our colleagues. Yes, if we divide our work or challenge then it becomes easy.
A skilled leader is the one who shares his power and responsibility among his peers.

It is the responsibility of a person to be aware of the health, education and duties of himself, his family and society, care for nature and help the needy to the best of his ability.

Our youth have a responsibility towards the country, to work in the national interest. Keep yourself and your surroundings clean and safe. Communicate positive thoughts. Give a message of unity by participating in social and religious functions, so that the spirit of cooperation is instilled in the people.

In our homes and school, students should be taught ethics so that the child respects elders, can help his friends, classmates, physically and financially weak people, as well as take care of the school, school premises and related things and its maintenance.

In school, a learner must acquire moral values along with learning. There should be a feeling of cooperation and respect among children and that honour should be put in the progress of their society so that their future will become golden.

Responsibility and Cooperation - Bloom BHIS

Volunteering is not a choice, it's a responsibility.

Hello everyone, today I wish to share a story about responsibility and co-operation based on an incident which took place in our school during the Academic Year 2019-20.

In the course of an Academic Year, we organize various inter-house competitions such as Inter-house Debate, Elocution, JAM, Doodle Making, Street Play among others. We also had a competition - “What’s the Good Word?” for the Secondary Section. We started with Grade 9, followed by Grade 8 and ended with Grade 6 and 7.

As I was put in charge of this competition, I listed down the steps involved in executing the event. I took the help of students to whom I could delegate various tasks, thereby enabling them to take on responsibilities. One such responsibility was to ensure practice and prepare the students of Grade 6 and 7. For this I wanted the students of higher grades to be involved, and hence I selected Avi and Dev from Grade 9. Both Avi and Dev were excited but at the same time were sceptical about their assigned responsibility as they had never done any thing remotely similar in the past.
I explained to them the nature of my expectations, which they diligently took note of. Soon, they initiated the selection process of participating students, collected content from various sources, had them verified from relevant teachers and prepared their juniors. Often I found them leading a practice session, assigning homework and taking tests. Before long, the participants were thoroughly prepared for the competition.
Finally, D Day arrived. All of us were excited but Avi and Dev were nervous as they fidgeted like mother hens! All their hard work would be judged. The six and seven graders participated with confidence, and finally, the result was declared. Guess what! The ones trained by Avi and Dev managed to bag the 1st position.
The happiness of their faces was a treat to see! Their efforts had paid off. In training their juniors, they had transformed into more confident individuals. In many ways, this was their reward. Avi and Dev had learnt that working in co-operation with others, taking up responsibilities and working towards executing them was the only way to achieve the desired goal.

Now, I see the radiance of confidence and leadership in Avi and Dev. They are always ready to take up new challenges. It is gratifying to participate in grooming the leaders and trendsetters of tomorrow.

We all do better when we work together. Our differences do matter, but our common humanity matters more.

Courage and Patience - Engaging Minds BHIS

A stumble may prevent a fall.

COACH ME
and I will learn
CHALLENGE ME
and I will grow.
BELIEVE IN ME
and I will win.

Magic happens when you do not give up, even though you want to. The universe always falls in love with a stubborn heart - J.M. Storm.

Albert always grew with the thought that only children with good grades are successful in life. Albert's performance was always the best, he was brilliant at academics,  Now Albert was heading to high school. Along with this, grew the expectations of all his teachers. Albert began to feel nervous. Each day built new pressure on him. It was like a mountain of expectations that he was unable to hold up. He couldn't confide in anyone. He lost his self-confidence. His courage disappeared in a blink of his eye. Needless to say, his performance began to suffer.

Ms Daisy, a middle-aged teacher who had always observed Albert since his childhood, was puzzled by this sudden display of low self-esteem. She approached him. She understood the underlying issue and showered him with her continuous encouragement and personal attention. Days turned into weeks. With a lot of patience and perseverance, Albert gathered courage and decided to attempt his final exams. And there he was - topping the rank list. His happiness knew no bounds. He couldn't thank Ms Daisy enough. This combination of courage and patience teaches us to not give up in life despite the situation.

The Patience to wait for the right moment and the courage to accept whatever you encounter are the two hardest challenges in one's life!!!!!

“COURAGE DOESN’T ALWAYS ROAR. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying ‘I will try again tomorrow’”

Ten Formulas of Success - Manish Jaiswal

I hope each one of you will be quite happy and healthy when this article touches you in this
period of lockdown everywhere.

See the positive side of lockdown & take this state of being at home full day as a challenge for yourself to increase sitting hours of study. In the normal days, we have a lot of distractions from a study like friends, outings, outside works etc. These distractions are absent nowadays except your TV & mobile. So starting with a 72-hour challenge (except your online study), break your attraction from these two as well.

Experience new things in your increased sitting hours. As soon as we increase sitting our speed of understanding and grasping the concept increases to many times in the later hours of study. Scientifically it is due to an increase in our concentration /focus in later hours of study. In the early hours of study, our mind is full of outside happenings which fade with time. This proves the importance of increased sitting hours in the life of students of secondary and senior secondary classes especially. Some of the board toppers and merit achievers have also revealed this experience in their interviews.

Furthermore, Today I want to give you 10 point study values to ensure success in your ambition.

10 FORMULAS OF SUCCESS:

1. Self Discipline (A student should set a target for himself & keep chasing it)
2. Serenity (He/She should be fully serious towards aim & work calmly)
3. Synergy (Good Communication with teacher & own classmates)
4. Steady (Regularly/Nonstop work for aim)
5. Stamina (Patience in efforts because F.A.I.L means First Attempt In Learning)
6. Succinct (Make your own brief summary notes as memory is limited )
7. Sensible (Use your mind to decide the priority of more importance topics)
8. Share (Sharing resources increases knowledge)
9. Satisfaction (Daily achieving target bring satisfaction & keeps motivated)
10. Self Reliance (Keep in mind that no one can better

So, stay at home, remain motivated, keep studying, fulfil your dreams and come out with flying colours.

Of course, the future is yours……This is what I think is important for your success.

Courage: Rahul Thakur

Courage is such a personal thing which comes in so many forms in need courage when I feel scared. It all about to stand up against to your fear, and say hey! I am willing to do to the battle. Then it’s up to you to do drive up the will, and that determination and that fight everyday go up there and be the best people that we can be.

Courage means brave and enough to face challenges which come in our path. In courage, braveheart is a powerful weapon to achieve victory in life.

We all heard the story of Milkha Singh life also teaches you to courage to move on. He was not even a teenager when he lost his parents in violent riots. That was disturbing for him, but he moved on and face the challenge with bravery and become one of India's most loved athletes. He teaches a lesson never take no for an answer when we are reaching your goals and face the fear and courage to move on.

Ajay Vijayvargi: Speaking

Speaking is the most reliable way to express one's ideas and thoughts to the next person. Diction, which means the choice of words and their correct pronunciation and fluency, which means the ability to speak; these are the two components of a speech. A child can learn to speak different languages and accents if he/she is given a chance. They always try to learn whatever he/she is taught by repetition and imitating. If speaking is mixed with music is a powerful way of learning for children. Being well spoken by our conversation with them can help a child's fluency and thinking. Let the child think about what you speak. They'll start sharing their thoughts under the comfortable environment. They must be taught to see and think beyond, to question and challenge.

Reading: Kusum Sharma

Reading is a very important activity for each and every human being. Especially loud reading for children enhances their interest in reading and writing. It gives the opportunity to learn many new things in life, which is not possible to experience without a good read. As we all are human beings and have many different situations in life. One has to deal with difficulties can easily accept the challenge because reading helps grow mentally and emotionally. Reading book is one of the constructive habits that actually helps in improving concentration power and train our brain to focus our attention.

Books can make us happy, sad, loved and so on. It is a mixture of different emotions that finally help us grow emotionally. Parents and teachers both should inculcate the habit of reading and should help them to select good books as per their age group. Reading gives power to our brain to improve our memory because we read information from the storyline so it is easier to memories.

Now a day’s children are very ambitious and want to get success in a short period of time due to these short cuts they don’t achieve success and lose hope and their interest in life and just want to give up. During that period of time, a good inspirational book can change their way of thinking and give them hope for a good life. So reading makes a person open mind and a better decision-maker. Finally, we can say people who read will be very different from the people who don’t.

Bharti Rao: The greatest obstacle that I overcame

Failure is one of the biggest challenge one faces in one's life. Self-doubt and depression are the resulting factors of failures. People when fail they believe that it is their weakness and they can never overcome their weakness. Some of us accept shortcomings as a part of our life and these people can never move on in their life. But there is always someone who acts as a supporter during this time of stress.
I remember those days when I finished my graduation and got married. I shifted from a city to a village and it was just different from the environment in which I was born and brought up. I felt sad and dejected. I felt my life and career had finished. I had fallen to the ground. The constant encouragement from my parents,  my husband and my father-in-law helped me to build up my self- confidence. I reflected on all my experiences and strengths I began to reconnect myself to the person I used to be.I regained my identity and belief in myself.
I decided to start my career as a teacher once again. I applied in The Fabindia School and was selected as the teacher there. The first day when I was standing at the Bus Stop I was stared at by many eyes. There were many questions flying from left, right that 'Where are you going? Why are you boarding this school bus? and what not." It was really a very uncomfortable moment. I was the target of everyone's hot talk in society.
I decided that now I will not give up and face everyone bravely. I ignored the comments that they passed. That was the day I learned to 'dig deep' and found the strength to get back up.  I then did my B.Ed. and completed my post graduation. Now I had regained my self-confidence so I moved on and achieved my goal.
Since then I have always been able to pull through difficult situations and stick with things that are hard. I have made my conscious choice never to give up and work hard. Hard Work and confidence always leads to success.

Responsible Icons: Courage

“Courage is accepting the challenges beyond your physical and mental limits.”

Being an educator, our school gives us immense opportunity to explore and experience different minds and personalities around us. One such unique personality was of an energetic student in my class. This student has always been labelled and mocked by his educator and peers. The reason for being labelled was his peculiar behaviour which included funny gestures and facial expressions. As a class teacher, I was concerned about the child’s behaviour and thought of observing him for a few days.

My observations and conversation with him led me to the conclusion that his behaviour was not deliberate but a reaction of his fear for public speaking. I was very determined to work in hand with this child and give him that much-needed opportunity to overcome his fear. And there we had this opportunity knocking at us as this week we had to present the school assembly.

Both of us sat together and here was our action plan to kick off his fear. We decided to take up ‘Courage’ as our topic for the assembly. And here I was with my plan. I asked this student to present a small speech on the topic but before that, he had to show the courage to accept his fear in front of the entire school. To which he reluctantly agreed. I must appreciate his efforts through his presentation was not a polished one he made me proud by showing the courage to accept his fear. And this was his victory. Gradually the child shed off his gestures and expressions and rose to be a good orator.

This one incident not only changes the child’s personality but also reflected that every fear has its way out. It’s an individual who has to gather the courage to face his fear and move out of the boundaries to reach for their goals.
